NEUROPROTECTIVE AND ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITIES OF AQUEOUS EXTRACT MORINGA OLEIFERA LEAVES

Objective: To investigate the neuroprotective and antioxidant effects of leaves aqueous extract Moringa oleifera (MW) in chronic stress mouse models.
 Methods: Water immersion restraint for 16 d to obtain a model animal. flour dissolved Aquades, dose 800 mg/kg 23 d, Stress+MOW group. Fluoxetine aquades at 18 BW group+Fluoxetine. Aquades were given normal mice (group N), under conditions (chronic control group). Furthermore, measure behavioral abnormalities by testing depressive behavior oxidative parameters such as anxiety, Brain-derived neurotrophic factors (BDNF).
 Results: water administration can improve disorders caused decreasing immobility time on Force swim test, increasing middle area, number returns center areas Open field test. When chronically stressed fluoxetine MOW, their MDA levels (p=0.008 0.041, respectively) SOD activity (p=0.001 0.004) decreased significantly compared In contrast, Catalase increased MOW group (p=0.010 0.013). Administration may increase expression mRNA BDNF (p=0.000 0.013).
